How to smooth your face with crystals!

Crystals and other precious stones have been long recognised for their healing and spiritual power.

Crystals have been used throughout history, in many ancient civilisations, for their magical and healing properties as well as their beauty. It's widely believed crystals vibrate at the same pitch as humans; the resonance between the stone and the human either combats the vibration of the illness or amplifies that of health.

Our modern, stressful lives can affect the health of our bodies and that is reflected in our skin, especially in our faces.  Late nights, alcohol, smoking, poor diet and excessive exposure to the sun can leave our skin looking dull, lifeless and wrinkled, with poor muscle tone or muscle tightness.

As they hold electrical charges within their structure, crystals can help to balance and energise your skin through electro-magnetic energy. Massaging your body with crystals helps to release tension while the healing energy is transferred to your body.

When crystals are used in facials and massage, they emit a natural form of light/energy that stimulates the neurological system and sends positive signals to the brain and throughout your whole body.  Deep relaxation, lymphatic drainage, improved muscle tone, increased self-esteem and skin purification are just a few of the benefits of blending crystal therapy with facials and massage.

DIY Crystal Face Massage

This simple DIY crystal facial technique supports lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and soothing the skin. It also provides a boost to your circulation, helping with toxin removal from the skin, clarifying your complexion, and rejuvenating skin cells for a healthy glow.

You’ll need a crystal wand, roller or smooth flat stone (my favourite is Rose Quartz). You’ll increase the benefits by infusing a collagen serum. Often referred to as "the stone of love", rose quartz crystal has been used in beauty rituals for centuries for it's healing, detoxifying, and radiance-infusing properties.  It is especially effective in releasing the unexpressed emotions that create tension in our face.

Use a light pressure; if your skin starts to get pink or red, it's too firm and not working on the lymph. Lymph responds to light pressure because it is close to the surface.

Starting on the right side:

  • Down the neck: Start at the outer corner of the jaw, near the earlobe. Sweep down to the dip above the middle of the right collarbone. Repeat 3-5 times.

  • Under the chin: Sweep from the middle of the soft under-chin (where a double chin would show up) out to the bottom of your earlobe, 3-5 times.

  • Chin: From the middle of the chin, under the lower lip, sweep out to the earlobe 3-5 times.

  • Cheek: Sweep from the corner of the nose out to the middle ear 3-5 times.

  • Under-eye: Be especially light and slow here. Sweep over the under-eye area, where "eye bags" would show up, and out to the temple, all the way to the hairline. Repeat 3-5 times.

  • Under eyebrow: Avoid any pressure on the eye or eyelid itself and stay on the brow bone. Sweep from inner corner out to temple again, 3-5 times.

  • Third eye: Stroke from the centre of the eyebrows up to the hairline. This one is especially relaxing for the nervous system and great for insomnia, so do more strokes if it speaks to you! Repeat 3-10 times

  • Lower forehead: Stroke from the centre of the forehead above the eyebrow out to the temple, 3-5 times.

  • Big sweep. Here we bring everything we've moved to the outer edges of the face all the way back down to the terminus, the collarbone dip located between the centre of the neck and the shoulder. Start at the centre of the upper forehead, and trace down the hairline, over the temple, then curve behind the ear, and down the side of the neck to terminus. Repeat 3-5 times.

  • Repeat the whole routine on the left side!
